"For in much knowledge is much sorrow. An increase of wisdom is an increase of sorrow." This quote can have many different meanings. It can come from someone who has a great deal of knowledge and an incredible amount of sorrow, so the more they know the more they are likely to have a vast amount of grief. I would definitely have to disagree with this quote. It plainly states that with the more you know, the more you'll be distressed and an increase of your knowledge is only an increase of your misery. That just cannot be possible. If you are so knowledgeable then there shouldn't be any grief because knowledge comes from experience, learning from your mistakes. So if you have knowledge of what's going on you should already subsist the outcome. Take Adam and Eve as an example. They lived in the garden of Eden and they had no knowledge of any sin. God informed them that they could eat any fruit from any of the trees except for one tree which supplied the forbidden fruit. There's the knowledge. God instructed them and they understood. Adam and Eve had the knowledge, but in spite of this ate the fruit anyway. There's the sorrow. They disobeyed God and introduced sin. They knew of there wrong doings. There shouldn't have been any act of disobedience taking place becausethey were already informed of what was going to happen if they disobeyed God'sorder. So howcould an increase of wisdom be an increase of sorrow? It would have been different if they were never informed. How can you be expecting sorrow if you have no knowledge of it? I would have to say that this quote reminds me of an oxymoron. You know so much, have so much wisdom and yet you have sorrow and an increase of your wisdom only comes with an increase of your sorrow. I think that if you have the knowledge then use it or take advantage of it. Learn from your experiences. There is no way that you can have knowledge of something and still have repetitive or increasing sorrow. I feel that if this quote were agreeable then "Parting will always be such sweet sorrow".
