The movie Finding Forester is about a young boy who wants to be a writer but can't tell his friends because he is afraid of rejection from his group.There is always this old guy that is always watching them while they play basketball. Then one night Jamal Wallace and his friends broke into William Forrester's apartment to see what is in there and Jamal was caught and dropped his bag when he was running out of Williams's apartment.The next day William had it hanging out the window, the next day Jamal was walking below his window and William dropped it out his window.Jamal went to write in his journal type book and found out that Mr. Wallace corrected all of his work.Jamal went to Mr. Forrester's apartment to talk to him about it and he told him to write a paper on why Jamal should stay out of his apartment.After that Mr. Forrester became Jamal's tutor. When Jamal turns in his improved work the public school decides to talk to some high priced private schools.One of the schools decides to give Jamal a full scholarship to the school.He takes it and the private school is amazed by his work but also confused.They compared Jamal's scores from his old school to this one and they think that he is cheating. They make him write this paper in his English teacher's room while he is watching.He ends up turning Mr. Forrester changed story in and the teacher thinks that he plagiarized off of Mr. Forrester's work that was published in a magazine.Then during the writing thing Jamal was kicked out because of that problem.Mr. Forrester makes an unplanned visit and speaks at the writing event.When everyone is done complimenting him he says that it is Jana's work and that the paper that he wrote was also his own work.Everyone is amazed.At the end Mr. Forrester goes back to his home country Scotland.A year or so after that Jamal is called into the principal's office and hears that Mr. Forrester has passed away from cancer.Jamal is upset and now owns all of his stuff in the apartment.At the very end of the movie in a package there is a story that Mr. Forrester had written and sent to Jamal to publish and take full responsibility of the earnings.
To me the real victory in the movie was that Jamal got Mr. Forrester to write again after a long time of not writing or telling anyone where he is.Jamal got him to go out in public again and facing people after he hasn't made any connections with anyone except his helper guy that brought him things like socks and food.Jamal stumbled upon him on accident and didn't even know who he was until he seen a picture that looked like him and put the puzzle together.When Mr. Forrester went to Jamal's school and talked to everyone he knew that he got William over his fear of big groups of people.After William left to go back to Scotland he ended up writing again and when his expected death happened he sent Jamal his work to show that he helped him to be inspired to write again.
I actually like this movie.I thought hat it was going to be another boring pick but it was actually good.It always kept me wondering what was going to happen next and nothing was expected for me.Jamal was a good character on having to go through all of his struggles in life, teacher, tutors and family. Mr. Forrester's live is probably going to be mine when I get older.So all in all it was a great experience.
